A friend of mine showed up to my workshop and asked me if I repair electric shavers and since I never opened one before, I told no but I am willing to try if he give me a chance. It turned out that electric shavers are very easy to fix. Here is the story.
My cousin came to my shop this morning and brought me a CRT TV set. There was no sign of a working TV, not even a stand by LED. My cousin manages a Hotel in the city of Bethlehem and he has over 100 rooms that has the same kind of TV set. This morning, he said that he had problems with electricity and some of the TV sets in the room just stopped working.
Upon opening this TV set, I scanned the PC board with the naked eye and soon enough, I found a bulged 1000uf/35 volts capacitor in the power supply primary section. I replaced this capacitor and turned the TV on. A few seconds later, other 1000uf/35 volts on the same line, blew up. I unplugged the set from the electrical outlet and touched the first capacitor that I installed and realized it was very hot which gave me the indication that these capacitors is getting more than 35 volts on that line and that is why, it blew up.
A LCD monitor was brought to my shop with the problem of blinking stand by LED. It has an external power supply that the customer was not sure if the problem was from the external power supply or the LCD Monitor itself.
A dead LCD computer screen was brought to my shop by a friend of mine. When I plugged the screen in the electrical outlet, could not see any picture on the screen not even a stand by light. It was a very easy fix. I hope you will enjoy the repair, as much as I did. So, let us begin.
